Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA) and RelyMD Partner to Increase Patient Access with Virtual Telehealth Services
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – (March 4, 2021) – RelyMD, a digital health company that provides on-demand telehealth services, is pleased to announce a partnership with Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA) and The Urgency Room. The Urgency Room, owned and operated by EPPA, is a Minnesota acute-care clinic with three locations in Eagan, Vadnais Heights, and Woodbury, Minn. It will leverage the RelyMD telehealth platform to extend many of its existing services to its patients virtually.
With RelyMD, The Urgency Room clinicians connect with patients via video visit using a version of the RelyMD platform tailored to The Urgency Room. Through the partnership, the organization will effectively provide easy-to-access care for patients at home, work, and everywhere in between. The new virtual telehealth service creates additional opportunities for the practice while providing more convenient care for patients. The service also allows for direct care coordination at each of their three locations when follow-up care is necessary.
According to Craig Matticks, Medical Director of The Urgency Room, “We’re able to provide quick, convenient solutions for patients seeking medical care.” Matticks notes, “RelyMD allows us to evaluate and treat many patients during their virtual visit. Patients requiring more intermediate or complex care can be directed for additional testing or an in-person visit to one of our three Urgency Room sites. With patients seeking care who appear to be experiencing a medical emergency, our emergency medicine providers can advise them to call 911 or proceed directly to a local emergency department.”
The Urgency Room has served patients with acute medical needs since 2010. Since its inception, The Urgency Room has delivered high-quality medical care paired with a great customer experience. Patients now have an even greater chance to receive convenient care when they need it most, both on-site and online. The new telehealth services will be available from 8am to 3pm, daily.
“Now more than ever, patients demand more convenient access to care without risking potential exposure to COVID-19,” said David Levin, CEO of RelyMD. “On-demand virtual care has proven itself to be an important new model of care delivery, and we look forward to working with The Urgency Room in extending this safe and efficient way of caring for their patients.”
