Wake County of North Carolina Selects RelyMD as Virtual Emergency Services Provider

RALEIGH, N.C. – (February 20, 2020) –RelyMD, North Carolina’s only independent virtual healthcare provider, is partnering with Wake County Emergency Services to provide on-demand telemedicine services during disaster events that require evacuation and the formation of general population shelters.

Telehealth is a proven way to care for temporary residents of group shelters during events that make access to healthcare difficult. Providing access around-the-clock to RelyMD’s care team helps keep residents in place for low-acuity medical concerns and gives patients appropriate levels of care and services, such as prescription refills while displaced.

“We’ve deployed disaster telehealth services in the past and have witnessed first-hand the resources it has saved for both the patient and the county department of emergency services,” said David Levin, CEO of RelyMD. “Becoming official partners shows that patient care is of top concern to Wake County and we’re glad to be their partner.”

Disaster telemedicine services for Wake County emergency shelters are free to temporary residents of designated locations during times of need. The virtual care is facilitated by on-site medical staff, allowing all shelter residents to have access without monetary or device restriction.
