Coronavirus

Your resource for minimizing exposure and remote COVID-19 assessments.

As COVID-19 begins to spread into the US, we’d like to help our patients stay informed, healthy, and prepared. At this time for the majority of people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low. There is not widespread circulation in most communities in the United States, according to the CDC. However, arming yourself with best healthcare practices and immediate access to knowledgeable providers is important.

The RelyMD medical team has carefully created specific COVID-19 protocols to help our patients seek remote care when experiencing flu-like symptoms, have concern over potential exposure with an infected person, or simply want to avoid healthcare facilities for non-related medical conditions. For mild symptoms we encourage you to login to see a RelyMD doctor who will help assess and guide you to the most appropriate level of care, minimizing unnecessary exposure for yourself and others.

If you find yourself in need of care due to flu like symptoms or potential exposure, use coupon code BEWELL for $49 RelyMD visit. Coupon code valid until March 31, 2020.

What you should know about COVID-19

More cases of COVID-19 are likely to be identified in the United States in the coming days, including more instances of community spread. It’s likely that at some point, widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the United States will occur. Widespread transmission of COVID-19 would translate into large numbers of people needing medical care at the same time.

From the CDC
Current risk assessment:

  • For the majority of people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low. There is not widespread circulation in most communities in the United States.
  • People in places where ongoing community spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 has been reported are at elevated risk of exposure, with increase in risk dependent on the location.
  • Healthcare workers caring for patients with COVID-19 are at elevated risk of exposure.
  • Close contacts of persons with COVID-19 also are at elevated risk of exposure.
  • Travelers returning from affected international locations where community spread is occurring also are at elevated risk of exposure.

CDC has developed guidance to help in the risk assessment and management of people with potential exposures to COVID-19.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue

The CDC does not recommend those who are not sick to wear a facemask.

The Power of Telehealth in
Response to COVID-19.

Hospitals and doctors across the country are utilizing telehealth to steer people with symptoms or fear of exposure toward virtual visits to assess remotely, helping all patients to minimize the risk of exposure.

Additionally, those who have confirmed cases of COVID-19 can be cared for and monitored from a distance, helping patients and healthcare providers to avoid the virus and linked respiratory disease.

Community Health Partnership

Our community-wide playbook creates a safer environment impacting patients, hospital employees, EMS personnel, public health workers, and others in the care continuum; and includes these important community-wide partners.

COVID-19 Rapid Response Program

RelyMD has developed care coordination protocols that can be customized to a community’s
care network, minimizing exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

Telehealth in Early & Late Stages of the Coronavirus Outbreak

Education

RelyMD Rapid Response can be used to evaluate COVID-19 risks, assess symptoms, and provide support by video to help patients find the most appropriate level of care while minimizing exposure for all. Consults are available on-demand 24/7, no appointment is necessary.

l

Treatment

Patients identified as high risk for deterioration are remotely monitored – anytime, anywhere. Changes in status are efficiently communicated to the responsible health system and local health department resulting in prioritized transport and safe & contained treatment within a hospital setting.

Triage

RelyMD providers are up to date on established COVID-19 telehealth protocols, CDC & local health department guidelines, PUI ID & management, and evaluation of necessary in-person care.

~

Safety

All effectively done with a clear underlying strategy of minimizing exposure to those with COVID-19 from infecting others.

Coordination

Care coordination protocols allow optimal management of COVID-19 assessment. Patients are assessed via a telehealth consult and either treated in-place or sent to the most appropriate setting of care with proper communications to all parties.

RelyMD is experiencing a significant increase in patient volume and is actively assisting health systems by triaging patients away from in-person facilities while working with local public health authorities to determine who meets testing criteria according to state, CDC, and WHO guidelines. Dr. Bobby Park, RelyMD’s Chief Medical Officer and Dr. Sarah Mills, RelyMD’s Medical Director have worked to create and maintain strict clinical guidelines for the virtual assessment of patients at risk for COVID-19.
