RelyMD’s Dr. David Kammer to Present on Telemedicine at NC Chamber’s 2018 Health Care Conference

DURHAM, N.C. – April 17, 2018 – PRLog — Dr. David Kammer, co-founder and director of technology for RelyMD, will present on telemedicine at the North Carolina Chamber’s 2018 Health Care Conference on May 1.  Dr. Kammer will specifically discuss how telemedicine can be utilized to solve many common health care problems.

The conference, entitled Health Care Value: Vital to Your Business, will take place at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham.  Dr. Kammer will present at 1:30 during a “Quick Hits” session focused on health care challenges North Carolina faces.

According to Dr. Kammer, the use of emergency departments and urgent cares, as well as the deployment of EMS resources, for low acuity medical issues is an inefficient and costly use of healthcare resources, yet many patients frequently access healthcare via these forms of care delivery. Dr. Kammer will share how telemedicine can reduce the unnecessary utilization of these resources.

“In the past, many patients automatically turned to an emergency department, urgent care or EMS call when injury or illness occurred outside of the small window of standard doctor’s office hours,” said Dr. Kammer. “Now, telehealth is able to provide them with access to quality healthcare around the clock, reducing the utilization of unnecessary emergency resources and increasing value for all involved.”
